Home Pet Euthanasia in Bristol and the South West
A Gentle, Peaceful Farewell for your faithful friends
Deciding to Euthanise your pet is one of the hardest decisions a person can make, but when your pet's quality of life deteriorates, or they are suffering from illness or old age, alleviating their pain is the kindest and most caring course of action.
At Peaceful Paws, our highly trained and experienced independent vet will visit your home to put your pet to sleep, in a safe and comforting environment, where they can be surrounded by the people they love, and who love them back.
Compassion and Understanding during one of life's most difficult moments...
At Peaceful Paws, we understand how difficult it can be to contemplate losing a beloved pet. Although we may want to end our pets' suffering, the guilt and upset associated with making such a decision can often seem overwhelming.
You may have many questions, such as "What happens if I put my dog down?", "Can I euthanise my pet at home?" or "Can I put my pet to sleep at home instead of at the vet's?"
As pet owners, we understand your pain and concerns, and will gently guide you through this difficult period, ensuring that every pet and its owners receive the dignity and support they deserve.

Saying goodbye is such a hard decision and I felt so conflicted about the choice I was making. However, my beautiful Tumi went to her final sleep completely relaxed, cuddled up in her bed with my arms around her. What a perfect way to go, and for that I can't thank Helen enough. x ali todd28/03/2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Well, it has been a week now since we said goodbye to our beloved Cairn Terrier, Buzz. We are missing him every day but I can't stop thinking about the wonderful, caring and personalised treatment we received from Helen at Peaceful Paws. The level of compassion and empathy she showed us really did make a very sad and painful experience so much more bearable. She was gentle, patient and kind and we could not have wished for more. She kept us informed every step of the way, from the time we booked her to the beautiful after care communication we received. The peace of mind knowing that Buzz was able to slip away in his own home with his loved ones around him lent warmth to our breaking hearts. Thank you so much Helen. I will never forget what you gave us that day. Jennifer Mengham24/03/2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. When we could see that our darling little dog was tired in his fight against Cushings disease, we contacted Peaceful Paws and the lovely Helen came to our aid. Helen gently talked us through every step of the way, giving us plenty of time to say our final goodbyes. We are so grateful to Helen for coming to our house and allowing our darling little boy to pass peacefully in his own home and treated with the love, compassion and dignity that he deserved. We'll be forever grateful. Emma Botterill22/03/2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We cannot thank Helen enough for her support and compassion. From the first initial phone call, Helen listened to me sob down the phone, she put me at ease and made the most difficult time peaceful and full of love. Helen was calm and professional throughout, taking such care at all times. We cannot put into words the void that our beloved Bruno has left in our hearts, but I am grateful his last moments were at home with us, were he belongs always. Her gentle care meant that our beloved Millie passed away peacefully surrounded by family in her own home. Helen sensitively explained each stage and it was not hurried and allowed us all to spend time with Millie and say our Good-byes. Helen also arranged the cremation which also eased the process for us. I am so grateful that our vet practice recommended Helen as knowing that Millie had such a peaceful and dignified ending has helped me to cope in the following days with my loss. She has even since sent a beautiful card with a personal and moving message and poem and wildflower seeds which has also meant a great deal to me. Thank you Helen. I highly recommend your wonderful service and care. Charise Stone18/03/2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Helen was incredible! We couldn’t have asked for better, more thoughtful and personal last moments with Puddin’. She was so attentive, explaining the whole process to us and giving us time to grieve during her visit. Her care and empathy was nothing short of amazing and really what we needed during that time. Our cat looked so peaceful in her final moments and we cannot thank you enough for the care you provided! Me and my family cannot thank Helen enough for what she did for us tonight, making our last moments with our Tyson a peaceful and calm experience. In every aspect she went above and beyond, even answering questions that I myself felt silly for asking and making me feel like nothing was too small. She also sorted out the cremation etc for us to take the stress off of us. Helen is absolutely amazing at what she does and she is a godsend to anyone who needs her. I would highly recommend using her to anyone in the future and will also be keeping her in mind for my other pets Fiona Dawson05/01/2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Highly recommend Helen at Peaceful Paws for her wonderful care. She provides a service no-one ever wants to call on but when you need her she is there with kindness and understanding. Her professionalism and sensitivity meant we understood what was happening but she was able to keep our boy and his needs at the heart of it all. Our hardest goodbye was made calm and peaceful, and at home, where he felt most comfortable. We are indebted to her for all her help at the hardest of times. Even from the first contact when she asked if it was ok to call me, she showed endless compassion right through the whole process. I was in quite a state and she was very understanding and calming. Helen also helped coordinate his cremation, taking his favourite blanket and toys to join him, and sent the most beautifully written card the day after. I honestly can't recommend her enough.
