A Gentle, Peaceful Farewell for your faithful friends
Deciding to Euthanise your pet is one of the hardest decisions a person can make, but when your pet's quality of life deteriorates, or they are suffering from illness or old age, alleviating their pain is the kindest and most caring course of action.
At Peaceful Paws, our highly trained and experienced independent vet will visit your home to put your pet to sleep, in a safe and comforting environment, where they can be surrounded by the people they love, and who love them back.
Compassion and Understanding during one of life's most difficult moments...
At Peaceful Paws, we understand how difficult it can be to contemplate losing a beloved pet. Although we may want to end our pets' suffering, the guilt and upset associated with making such a decision can often seem overwhelming.
You may have many questions, such as "What happens if I put my dog down?", "Can I euthanise my pet at home?" or "Can I put my pet to sleep at home instead of at the vet's?"
As pet owners, we understand your pain and concerns, and will gently guide you through this difficult period, ensuring that every pet and its owners receive the dignity and support they deserve.

I was so glad that I found Helen. She was so kind and compassionate throughout. It never felt rushed, and she guided us through every step with such care. I wanted a home visit because my cats are house cats, and my sweet Buffy, who had been diagnosed with lymphoma a couple of months earlier, deserved to leave this world where she was most comfortable. I struggled deeply with knowing if I was doing the right thing, even though in my heart I knew it was. Helen’s reassurance and gentle approach meant so much in that moment. She made the whole experience as calm as possible for Buffy and for us, which is something I will always be grateful for. From her clear and kind communication, to the thoughtful messages and card she sent afterwards, it was clear she genuinely cared. I would recommend her to anyone faced with making this incredibly difficult decision. Thank you again Helen, for everything. We sadly had to make a decision regarding our beautiful boy Bass that was heartbreaking. But Helen made it a very loving and peaceful way to say goodbye at home. She was kind thoughtful and calming in a moment that was so sad for us. She has followed up and checked in making sure we are ok. Having had dogs my whole life I have sadly had this moment before but given the choice of a clinical setting at the vets is not what I would ever choose again after using Helen and peaceful paws being at home safe in his own surroundings was best for our Bass and our family. He is soo missed and loved. Thank you Helen for being your wonderful loving self to help us through this. Shaun Hearse27/07/2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Couldn’t have asked for better or kinder service than we received from Helen when our beloved dog suddenly became very ill. We had contacted her knowing that we would need her services in the near future. When it suddenly became urgent , Helen didn’t hesitate to make special arrangements and was so kind, professional and knowledgeable. Our dog had an easy peaceful end and we were comforted by knowing that we had done the best for him. Marcella Purnell21/07/2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Saying goodbye to our lovely jack russell Jake was never going to be easy, he was a character and a half who was loved by almost everyone that met him. The pain of losing him has been eased by the knowledge that we gave him the best ending possible. Helen was warm, empathic and supportive throughout the entire process and took care to ensure that Jake's passing was smooth and peaceful. The whole experience, though heartbreaking, was also strangely beautiful and deeply profound. I can’t recommend Helen and Peaceful Paws highly enough. We sadly lost our beautiful dog 16yr old Taz on Monday 17th July 25, his passing was made peaceful, calmly, kindly and dignified. We cannot thank Helen enough as his forever sleep has been made more bearable because of her. ( We have had awful experiences in the past )
