Compassion and Understanding during one of life's most difficult moments...
At Peaceful Paws, we understand how difficult it can be to contemplate losing a beloved pet. Although we may want to end our pets' suffering, the guilt and upset associated with making such a decision can often seem overwhelming.
You may have many questions, such as "What happens if I put my dog down?", "Can I euthanise my pet at home?" or "Can I put my pet to sleep at home instead of at the vet's?"
As pet owners, we understand your pain and concerns, and will gently guide you through this difficult period, ensuring that every pet and its owners receive the dignity and support they deserve.

On Saturday, we had to make the heartbreaking decision to say goodbye to our beloved dog, Apache. Having Helen from Peaceful Paws with us made an incredibly difficult moment feel gentle and dignified. From the moment she arrived, Helen brought a calm, reassuring presence to our home. She spoke to us with real warmth and compassion, and treated Apache with such tenderness and respect. She guided us through every step with patience and understanding, allowing us the time and space we needed. Thanks to Helen, Apache was able to pass peacefully and comfortably at home, surrounded by love. We are deeply grateful for her kindness on one of the hardest days of our lives. Thank you, Helen, for everything. 🐾💛Posted on Lydia Britton04/12/2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Thank you so much for your care to Pringle in his final moments, I’m so glad he went so peacefully surrounded by his family and a vet who was so gentle with him. Helen was so kind and went above and beyond to make saying good bye to my best friend a little bit easier. I will always remember how kind you were to my family and I that day, the veterinary profession is very lucky to have you. Helen helped us when the time came to say goodbye to our beloved family dog, Marley. He was nearly 15 and it was one of the hardest decisions we’ve ever had to make but Helen made the whole process as calm and as nice as it could be. We got to say goodbye where Marley was comfortable and surrounded by everyone who loved him. I can’t thank Helen enough.Posted on Ross Spicer01/12/2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Helen made a difficult time a lot easier for us as a family and was very informative throughout the whole process. She took the time to explain everything to younger members of the family in a way that they could understandPosted on Sian Bryant01/12/2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Helen was amazing. From arriving until leaving with our baby. She was empathetic, and so so gentle. We felt totally at ease with her. She sedated our baby talking to us all the time. At no stage did we feel rushed. She respectfully covered her with a blanket whilst she gave the final injection. We were unaware of it happening so, that made it so much less painful for us. She gently examined her after and, told us shed gained her wings. Helen then, gave us time to be with our baby to say final goodbyes. When it was time to let her go, we carried her to Helens van which, had blankets and a cuddly toy in which to lie her down for her final journey to the crematorium. I would give Helen 110% and, recommend her wholeheartedly. This whole heartbreaking situation was made easier by this wonderful, caring Lady .Posted on Lorna B01/12/2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I found out about Peaceful Paws at my vet and unfortunately had to request Helen’s services when my poor dog Angel took a turn for the worst. I had always wanted my dog to pass away peacefully at home and unfortunately her health declined quickly and I needed emergency weekend euthanasia. I was so thankful that Helen was available. It was an incredibly stressful time for me and she made it very easy to understand aswell as being easy to contact. During the euthanasia, she talked through every step. I was so thankful that she was there to support us. My dog was treated with the most love and care that she was used to. It was the least I could do to provide her a final goodbye in a place that she loved. The whole experience was incredibly hard emotionally, but I am still so grateful for Helen’s support.Posted on Fi Fi01/12/2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Such a difficult day but made easier by Helen and the way she just worked around us and made it our event. Never intrusive or rushed, Helen came to us with very little notice and yet facilitated a really lovely farewell to our beloved cat Arthur. It was just so perfectly handled and has made these days that follow so much easier for us all, knowing he slipped away peacefully in our arms and with calm and love surrounding him. Thank you Helen xxx
