At Peaceful Paws, our highly trained and experienced independent vet will visit your home to put your pet to sleep, in a safe and comforting environment, where they can be surrounded by the people they love, and who love them back.
Compassion and Understanding during one of life's most difficult moments...
At Peaceful Paws, we understand how difficult it can be to contemplate losing a beloved pet. Although we may want to end our pets' suffering, the guilt and upset associated with making such a decision can often seem overwhelming.
You may have many questions, such as "What happens if I put my dog down?", "Can I euthanise my pet at home?" or "Can I put my pet to sleep at home instead of at the vet's?"
As pet owners, we understand your pain and concerns, and will gently guide you through this difficult period, ensuring that every pet and its owners receive the dignity and support they deserve.

Helen came promptly and was brilliant - kind and sensitive to my distress and wonderful with my dog. Nothing was rushed, everything explained and we felt at ease. I can’t recommend Helen’s service enough. My dog went to sleep peacefully at home. Helen took her away on her bed and she was privately cremated. A brilliant service and thank you naii watts09/05/2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Met Helen in unfortunate circumstance of having to say goodbye to our beautiful girl noodle, having the opportunity to see Nessie into her next journey at home was one of the most wholesome experiences of love we could give her. No anxiety surrounding what was going on and surrounded by all the love she needed & deserved. Helen was so compassionate while maintaining professional respect throughout the whole process, she was extremely supportive and interesting in any and all information about our relationship and memories with Nessie and the process was uncomplicated and as loving as such a situation could be. Regular check ins afterwards to support us as a family after such a huge loss for us. 100% recommend this service to anyone who has to go through this unfortunate situation as it was the most supportive and humane way to say goodbye to our beautiful girl. Thank you Helen for being you, offering something so difficult in such a wholesome manner and having the compassion and understanding you do. Making the decision to send our beloved pooch over rainbow bridge, was a heartbreaking, yet necessary choice. Helen saw us through this difficult process with compassion, kindness and humility. Thanks to Helen, Harry had the most peaceful, and dignified end we could wish for. Zoe Stiles04/05/2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. From beginning to end Helen made Wilfred’s last sleep as stress free as possible both for us as Wilf’s guardians and for Wilf. I was able to hold Wilf and comfort him in his last moments in his own home with his little brother Arthur and adopted brother Loki looking on, as was their choice. Arthur gave his brother a respectful good bye lick after Wilf had passed and, whilst the days following have been particularly challenging for Arthur (who was extremely closely bonded to Wilf) and very sad for us all, being able to do this final act at home has helped us all. Thank you, Helen, so much. Xxx Sally Gallear26/04/2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I cannot express enough thanks to Helen at Peaceful Paws. When the heartbreaking decision came to say goodbye to our beautiful boy Max at almost 17 years old Helen was so supportive. She talked us through as a family, and even included our other dog Poppy. Our daughter Lucy wanted to hold Max through the process and Helen made this possible. I can wholeheartedly say I am so glad we took the option to say goodbye to Max at home. His peaceful passing with those that loved him will hopefully help us all to heal in time. Thanks again Helen - ❤️ Stacey Nevill28/03/2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Saying goodbye is such a hard decision and I felt so conflicted about the choice I was making. However, my beautiful Tumi went to her final sleep completely relaxed, cuddled up in her bed with my arms around her. What a perfect way to go, and for that I can't thank Helen enough. x ali todd28/03/2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Well, it has been a week now since we said goodbye to our beloved Cairn Terrier, Buzz. We are missing him every day but I can't stop thinking about the wonderful, caring and personalised treatment we received from Helen at Peaceful Paws. The level of compassion and empathy she showed us really did make a very sad and painful experience so much more bearable. She was gentle, patient and kind and we could not have wished for more. She kept us informed every step of the way, from the time we booked her to the beautiful after care communication we received. The peace of mind knowing that Buzz was able to slip away in his own home with his loved ones around him lent warmth to our breaking hearts. Thank you so much Helen. I will never forget what you gave us that day. Jennifer Mengham24/03/2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. When we could see that our darling little dog was tired in his fight against Cushings disease, we contacted Peaceful Paws and the lovely Helen came to our aid. Helen gently talked us through every step of the way, giving us plenty of time to say our final goodbyes. We are so grateful to Helen for coming to our house and allowing our darling little boy to pass peacefully in his own home and treated with the love, compassion and dignity that he deserved. We'll be forever grateful. Emma Botterill22/03/2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We cannot thank Helen enough for her support and compassion. From the first initial phone call, Helen listened to me sob down the phone, she put me at ease and made the most difficult time peaceful and full of love. Helen was calm and professional throughout, taking such care at all times. We cannot put into words the void that our beloved Bruno has left in our hearts, but I am grateful his last moments were at home with us, were he belongs always. Gillian Benarous22/03/2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. From the moment I contacted Helen, she was so compassionate and understanding. Her gentle care meant that our beloved Millie passed away peacefully surrounded by family in her own home. Helen sensitively explained each stage and it was not hurried and allowed us all to spend time with Millie and say our Good-byes. Helen also arranged the cremation which also eased the process for us. I am so grateful that our vet practice recommended Helen as knowing that Millie had such a peaceful and dignified ending has helped me to cope in the following days with my loss. She has even since sent a beautiful card with a personal and moving message and poem and wildflower seeds which has also meant a great deal to me. Thank you Helen. I highly recommend your wonderful service and care.
