End of Life Veterinary Care: Bristol, Bath, Swindon, and Surrounding areas
A Gentle, Peaceful Farewell for your faithful friends
Deciding to euthanise your pet is one of the hardest decisions a person can make, but when your pet's quality of life deteriorates, or they are suffering from illness or old age, alleviating their pain is the kindest and most caring course of action.
At Peaceful Paws, our highly trained and experienced independent vet will visit your home to put your pet to sleep in a safe and comforting environment, where they can be surrounded by the people they love, and who love them back.
Compassion and Understanding during one of life's most difficult moments...
At Peaceful Paws, we understand how difficult it can be to contemplate losing a beloved pet. Although we may want to end our pets' suffering, the guilt and upset associated with making such a decision can often seem overwhelming.
You may have many questions, such as "What happens if I put my dog down?" "Can I euthanise my pet at home?" or "Can I put my pet to sleep at home instead of at the vet's?"
As pet owners, we understand your pain and concerns and will gently guide you through this difficult period, ensuring that every pet and its owner receives the dignity and support they deserve.

Meet The Vet
Dr. V. Helen. Jones BVMS MRCVS
Helen, a vet of 18+ years, has lived in the southwest since 2006, working with all creatures great and small. At a young age, Helen was inspired to help animals and followed in James Herriot’s footsteps by attending Glasgow University.
Helen quickly realised the joy of her job was found in enabling and enhancing the bond between people and their pets. Families' relationship with their ‘heart pet’ is as varied as the number of breeds in existence. The common thread, however, is always "to want what is best for your pet".
EXCELLENT Based on 123 reviews Posted on hannah woodTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Helen made the worst day of our lives easier and less traumatic. Helens communication from start to finish was brilliant and the care she gave our beautiful dog was done subtly and compassionately. We feel some relief in that we were able to say goodbye at home. Helen understood our needs and our dog was blissfully unaware and pain free. We will never forget how peaceful it was for us all.Posted on AndreaTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Helen guided us through one of the most difficult times in our lives. Eva was diagnosed with heart failure 9 months ago, with medication twice a day we were blessed to have extra time with our precious baby girl. However, over two weeks she rapidly slowed down and clearly, although she still wanted to be there for us, her enjoyment was reducing and health declining. We made the hardest decision, leading to me calling Helen. From that first sobbing call, Helen showed understanding and kindness, taking control and making arrangements for our preferred evening goodbyes. Her guidance was needed and because of her, a traumatic time, is now an image of our Eva Belle, enjoying all the treats, with no stress, surrounded by our love and going to sleep with Helens gentle help, in her own bed. We were given all the time we needed, and Helen ensured she was safely cared for until she came home from Forget me Not pet cremation two days later. If you have to face this heartbreaking decision, call Helen, she'll be the support you need. Sweet dreams baby girl, love you Eva Belle xPosted on Michael JonesTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. When we had to make the extremely difficult decision to have our best friend Monty put to sleep, we knew the last thing he would have wanted was to be taken to the vets for his last journey. Instead, we contacted Helen and she came to us. Monty was able to go to sleep in his own bed, outside on the grass, eating sausages in the sunshine. The whole experience was so peaceful, and it helped us a lot to know he was able to enjoy his last moments, rather than being at the vets , which he would have hated. Helen was amazing. Explaining the whole process to us, while comforting Monty the whole way through. I cannot recommend her highly enough. Thanks very muchPosted on Deborah SidebottomTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Vet Helen from Peaceful Paws was so amazing at looking after my darling Panda at the end. She was so calm and explained everything so well. It was done with so much compassion, dignity and kindness to both myself and my “rainbow”dog Panda. I would highly recommend her services. Thank you so much Helen - you are an Angel ❤️Posted on Ian WallaceTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Helen was so compassionate & kind at such a difficult timePosted on Raven RaveTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Helen was wonderful. We had made the right decision for Harry, our old Golden Retriever, but it was still absolutely heartbreaking. Helen helped with her wonderful support, sympathetic attitude and so very caring. What I was dreading actually turned out to be beautiful because it was right for Harry and not stressful. Harry was ready to cross over to Rainbow Bridge and Helen supported us through this. I would very highly recommend Helen.Posted on Matt MacTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Following a long illness it finally became time to say goodbye to my beloved cat. I contacted Helen who was very sympathetic on the phone and agreed to attend the home the same day. The actual visit could not have been a more gentle good bye and Helen was exceptional generous with her time and support. In the future I will always call Helen first.Posted on Joyce HallettTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Even though our hearts were breaking, Helen made the whole process much more bearable. Our Alfie could not have wished for any more care, and compassion at the end of his life.we would certainly recommend her service.Posted on Louise BeardwellTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had to say our goodbyes to our beloved dog Bruno . This was one of the hardest decisions we had to make as a family. We are truly heart broken but we knew our furry family member was getting weak. From the very first contact with Helen she was amazing. Helen came to our house and supported us through the process. Helen explained everything in a truly compassionate manner. Helen gave us the time respect and privacy that we needed at this very sad and difficult time . Bruno was treated with the upmost dignity.Posted on Emma GreenhowTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Dr Helen is absolutely wonderful. Saying goodbye to my beloved 18.5 year-old cat was always going to be hard when the time came. I had to decide fairly quickly and Helen came the next day. She was so kind and caring and took her time so that the whole process, although very sad, was also very peaceful and loving. You can instantly feel how much she loves and respects the deep bond we have with our pets and knows how special our last moments are. She explained everything clearly and what would/could happen and performed each injection skilfully and gently. Helen really is such a gift at this emotionally difficult time and every pet parent and family supported by her is very blessed. Helen also gave some very thoughtful aftercare which shows just how much she cares. Home euthanasia isn’t cheap but Helen is worth every penny for that special goodbye and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her x
